How did this:

turn into...

this?
Holy cow...when did this happen?!

I know bud, I can't believe it either.
(p.s. - that's his "WHAAAAT?" face. he gives it to me a lot.)
Aaron is seven months old today. That seems so...old. You know, relatively speaking.
I've heard people say that the second half of the first year flies by. And now I understand why.
Everyday is something new. It's simply amazing to watch Aaron as he develops new skills on a daily basis. Something that he wasn't so great at yesterday, he'll be a pro at by tomorrow. He continuously shocks me with how smart he is. My baby is going to be a little boy before I know it. I'm trying to pry my eyes wide open so I don't blink and miss it.
Some of his new tricks:
-"The Worm" : okay, this isn't really a trick. He's trying to crawl (I think) and he does this crazy belly maneuver that looks half like he's sky diving and half like he's doing the Worm. Only, sadly, he doesn't actually GO anywhere just yet. But he wants to.
Oh boy, does this kid wants to move somethin' fierce. And when he does...I'm sure I'm in trouble.
-Hysterical laughter : Aaron loves to laugh. It's hard to know what will make him laugh on any given day, but you can bet that once Isaac and I figure it out, we don't stop until Aaron is in hysterics. He has this great belly laugh when he really gets going that makes
us laugh hysterically too. It makes him laugh more when we laugh, and so the cycle continues. I haven't been able to get the true belly laugh on camera because he usually clams up when he sees it. I'd say it's a two man job...we'll work on that for you.
-Chomping : although eating has been a regular occurrence for quite awhile now, Aaron has finally started chewing while he eats. It's more like chomping, really, especially since his food is still entirely pureed. He also does the chomping when there is no food involved...then it's more like a lip smack. I think he just likes the noise that his lips make. Isaac thinks it's his way of telling us he wants his pacifier. If so, we have a baby genius on our hands.
Here's a video of Aaron eating/chomping. The perspective of the camera shows what it would be like if you sat on his highchair during his meal. I wouldn't recommend it though...it gets a little messy.
For the record, this is one of those times where he isn't a big fan of what he's eating. But you'll notice that he opens his mouth for more anyway. I probably wouldn't be a big fan of this meal either. He doesn't like the taste of pureed chicken straight up (can you blame him?) so I mixed in pureed peas and some pureed brown rice. I guess it wasn't the tastiest. My bad.
-Jumping : Aaron
loves his jumperoo and he's finally figured out exactly how it works. When he gets jumping, watch out! It gets a little crazy in there.
Of course, he's a little camera shy here too. I don't know what it is about the camera but he just stops whatever he's doing and stares at it. You'd think he'd be used to it by now, since I'm always shoving it in his face.
But no. Alas, it prevents me from truly sharing his adorableness. Maybe you should come visit to see him in person. It's really the only way to get the full measure of cuteness.
So here he is...my big seven month old boy.
And who knows, maybe by the time I'm putting up a post for his eight month birthday, he'll be a big cousin!
